When exporting my final film, I think that something went wrong as I lost all of the sound. Unfortunately, I didn't notice this until late today when I went to publish it on my website. I will still put it here and hopefully get a copy with sound as soon as possible.
I watched over the clip several times, each time noticing little things that I could change to make it better. I this for most of the afternoon, until I was satisfied with the end result.
With only one day to go, the editing process is becoming intense. I managed to get the final scene in place and add all of the audio, but it still needs some tweaking to get it just right.
I also managed to get the intro done, which actually turned out pretty good and I am pleased with it. I experimented by layering the clips on top of each other and changing the opacity which make a pretty cool effect. After watching an episode of 'The Walking Dead' I had the idea to do a similar intro as they do. They use a lot of quick, snappy shots that go in and out of focus. Here it what it looks like: As I hadn't originally planned to do this, I don't have any planning for it. I decided to go out with a camera and just around with different shots. I won't waste to much time editing this as I am not 100% of what it will look like. I shall have a go on Wednesday and let you know how it goes.
Today I finally shoot the last scene and I think it went very well. In the beginning I was a little concerned on how I was going to do it and make it look good but I think I managed to pull it off. I will put it in on Wednesday and probably spent the majority of that day editing it.
With the deadline creeping closer, I need to find suitable music. This is proving to be quite hard, as the music really makes it or breaks it and there is so much to choose from. One of my class mates showed me a really good website where you can download royalty free music for free. This has been very useful and I will certainty use it to widen my search.
The editing is going well, although it is taking a lot longer than I anticipated. I am confident I can get it done on time, however I will need to put the extra time in.
Good news! I have finally found a time where both myself and Emma (my actress) and film the final scene. I will be shooting this on Monday 23rd March.
Today I discovered how to audio sound like its coming out of a phone speaker. I used this effect in the phone conversation between Ally and Kiera.
I also learned how to remove some of the background buzz I had in a few of the sound files, by using soundtrack Pro. This is something I have never used before, so I had to teach myself by watching YouTube tutorials and searching the internet. When doing this research I also stumbled across some other interesting editing techniques which I might try and use in my film. With all of the audio files now synced with the video, I can begin with the more fancy editing. I started off simple and began by layering clips, shifting audio and adding transitions to make everything run nice and smoothly.
